This portion of A-10D required careful design, as the fill slopes got perilously close to Little Laurel Creek and Little Creek Road. Moving further to the west resulted in larger excavation cuts in Rock Cuts #8 and 9 as well as more colluvium problems, and removed Waste Area #2 from possible use.
