This will be the tallest of the columns supporting the Laurel Creek Bridge and will eventually reach 220' in height. Right now it's only about 40' high. The plastic around the top is to keep the newly poured concrete warm while it is curing. The rods sticking out the top are the reinforcing steel for the next layer of concrete. These columns are all hollow and will provide access inside them for maintenance and inspection purposes. Photo taken in February 1999.
