This is a closeup of the soil nail wall uphill of one of the the Laurel Creek bridge columns. This kind of wall is cheaper than the pile panel wall barely visible at the top of the photo and can be buried, making it useful for areas where large amounts of slide material are present. Photo taken in May 1999.
