One of the production blasts to break up the rock in Area #2. These large explosions are typically set off once a day or so, and the big shovels and trucks then move in to load and remove the rock to sites where the material is used to replace colluvium or construct buttresses. Some rock is also sorted and stockpiled for use as erosion control stone. Photo courtesy of Daryl, the Powder Foreman on A-10C.
