Area #8 as seen from across the rock embankment to the north. This cut is completed, but the rock was not strong enough to allow a steeper slope like the ones on A-10C. The lighter colored area on the left is a erosion control matting put down over the soil slope until grass has had a chance to take root. The rock embankment was specified to keep the fill out of Little Laurel Creek, which is right at the bottom of the fill. Photo taken in November 1999.
