This is the northern endbent support for the Laurel Creek Bridge. Shafts are drilled deep into solid rock and then reinforced concrete is poured into them to strengthen the rock below the support. The endbent itself will be poured around the reinforcing steel sticking out of the columns, creating a solid mass that will transfer the weight of the bridge down into the rock. Photo taken in October 2000.
