Back in the summer of 2000, a storm dumped 10" of rainfall in Sprinkle Creek valley. An erosion control device at the head of Sprinkle Creek failed, sending a huge mass of mud and water down the creek, eroding the banks and washing out the stream for at least a mile. The Project Hydraulic Engineer, Randy Henegar, along with help from the contractor, rebuilt the stream. This photo shows some of Randy's handiwork. The stream had vertical banks and had been washed out several feet deep, but the repair work has added step pools, meanders and lots of vegetation along the stream. Photo taken in April 2001.
