Looking at the Laurel Creek Bridge from the south end. The shiny metal is the steel decking that is placed between the steel beams, and supports the concrete deck and reinforcing steel. The individual pieces are fastened together and then welded to the steel beams. The plating is very flexible and it's hard to believe the concrete can be supported by them. Photo taken in July 2001.
