This is the contractor's rock crushing and sorting machine, a
42 inch by 48 inch Pioneer Jaw Crusher. It
is set up on the north face of Buckner Gap adjacent to Waste Site
machine takes in rock blasted out of the cuts, crushes it to a
diameter, and then sorts it according to the size needed. You can
piles of different sized rock behind the machine and to the right of
it. Over 600,000 tons of stone has been crushed to date by this machine.
The machine is set up on the future road location, which curves
the mountain to the left and down toward Bear Branch Road.
Way off in the background can be seen some clearing begun
second of the large earthmoving projects, A-10D.
